Mobile Computing
Mobile Computing
Mobile computing is a wireless communication and its applications are generic technology that refers to numerous devices that are supportable to access transmitted data like voice, video, and text anytime and anywhere over the wireless network infrastructure.
The features of mobile computing are as follows:
• Good battery life,
• Having fast processor speed,
• Durability,
• Easy to handle and carry these small devices,
• Data can be transferred easily between users.
Mobile computing involves:
a. Mobile communication
These would include devices such as protocols, services, bandwidth , and portals necessary to facilitate and support the stated services for the mobile communication.
b. Mobile hardware
Mobile hardware includes mobile devices or components that receive or access the service of mobility.
c. Mobile software
Mobile software is actual program that runs on the mobile hardware. It deals with characterstics and requirements of mobile application. It is the operating system of the appliance.
Features of Mobile Computing are:
- Easy to handle and carry these small devices.
- Data can be transferred easily between users.
- Having fast processor speed.
- Durability.
- Arbitrary network, easily connect to other environment and transmit data.
- It can include GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver for navigation.
Advantages of Mobile Computing are:
- It enables users to work from any location at any time.
- It saves time for accessing data and information.
